Transportation

Dear Toronto,

This morning (28/08/13), yet another cyclist was hit and seriously injured in this city (second one this week). When are we going to realize that bicycles are just as much a vehicle and mode of transportation as cars are? If Toronto is to be a world-class city, it NEEDS to have the infrastructure that supports all methods of transportation.

Transportation

Dear Toronto,

We have a serious problem. The worse it gets, the more good people and opportunities it will cost us. I'm talking about inadequate transit planning and infrastructure. It takes an hour each way to get from Steeles to the downtown core. WTF? Let's stop proposing two-stop subway lines that don't connect to anything. Let's stop preaching the gospel of subways when rapid light rail makes so much more sense. Let's fix this mess. Please.

Economy

Dear Toronto,

We need to get ourselves a mayor that cares about our city. Much the same way that Calgary's mayor does. The city needs to be the priority, not their own personal agenda.

Urban Planning & Public Space

Dear Toronto,

We are overloading the downtown core with condos which will lead to a condo ghetto years to come. We need to find a happy medium.

Urban Planning & Public Space

Dear Toronto,

A few weeks ago, a young girl was hit and killed by a garbage truck on her way to school. There was a lot of talk of banning garbage trucks in school zones. Why not just change collection day in those zones to the weekend? Or simply change collection time, to say, 10am, when there is far less traffic and students are in school. Banning the trucks would create a number of other issues.

Housing

Dear Toronto,

The price of renting an apartment downtown is astronomical and the job market out there is tough. I love this city with all my heart but I fear that my time here could be nigh.
