Transportation

Dear Atlanta,

Why are you so adverse to public transit? You started a great set of "bones" with the MARTA train system and then you killed it. How are we going to be the City of the 21st century if you cannot convince my fellow citizens that we could be so better with a good public transit system?

Transportation

Dear Atlanta,

Your sidewalks are an after-thought. They are one foot wide, perilously close to speeding traffic, and prone to ending inexplicably.

Urban Planning & Public Space

Dear Atlanta,

You built this city for cars, not people. And the results are boring as hell: nobody on the sidewalks, nobody strolling the streets, and everyone stuck in their cars on Peachtree Road!

Environment

Dear Atlanta,

Peachtree Creek is beautiful --- and it would be a beautiful gathering place for residents, if it weren't so neglected and polluted. How did you even dare to build a city on top of it without any thought to the environmental impact on some of your most gorgeous assets?

Urban Planning & Public Space

Dear Atlanta,

Great restaurants, art museum, parks, and the Beltline. One wish....that drivers reacquainted themselves with the little stem on the left side of the steering column.

People & Diversity

Dear Atlanta,

Why do we still have so much economic inequity along color lines, even after decades of blacks being represented in city leadership and as the population majority? It's the elephant in the room that local politicians aren't talking about. Why aren't they starting a conversation about improving the situation?

Urban Planning & Public Space

Dear Atlanta,

I love all the abandoned buildings in Southwest Atlanta. It would be awesome if they could one day be used again in an artful way instead of just getting ripped down and replaced with expensive, unimaginative apartment complexes.
